Playbill Radio will offer an encore presentation of the "Virtual Opening Night" of Disney's new Broadway musical The Little Mermaid.

The broadcast will include the original cast album — in full — on Feb. 25 at 2 PM ET exclusively on PlaybillRadio.com. The original broadcast aired on Jan. 10, the same evening the show held its opening night.

The "Virtual Opening Night" also includes backstage interviews with Sierra Boggess, Sherie Renee Scott and all the lead actors. Composer Alan Menken is also interviewed and tells how the fairytale became a film and how the film became Broadway's newest musical.

Neither special equipment nor a password is needed to enjoy the broadcast, created by web radio station PlaybillRadio.com with Disney Theatricals. Listeners can go to Playbillradio.com starting at 2 PM ET and select either the Windows Media or MP3 streams.

To celebrate the event, Playbill.com has a page dedicated to The Little Mermaid, including photos from the red carpet and the production itself. To view these photos, click here. (www.playbill.com/mermaid).

The official release date of The Little Mermaid original cast recording is Feb. 26. The CD is available for pre-order at Amazon.com. A limited-edition picture-disc version of the CD is available for pre-order at the (Playbill Store), another online exclusive.

Playbill Radio provides theatre lovers with a worthy complement to Playbill's existing print and Internet offerings. Current content features consist of a 24-hour/day stream of the best Broadway cast recordings, podcast programs of interviews with theatre stars and hourly theatre news updates weekdays. Listener interaction features user-posted song ratings and track requests. Current standard programming includes "Playbill Presents," "Center Stage" and "Composer Spotlight," each providing in-depth access to all things theatre.

Based on the Disney film and the classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid, presented by Disney Theatrical Productions, plays Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The musical features such Disney classics as "Part of Your World," "Kiss the Girl" and the Academy Award-winning Best Original Song, "Under the Sea"— all by the songwriting team of eight-time Academy winner Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. The stage adaptation, directed by Francesca Zambello, also features new songs by Menken and Glenn Slater, plus a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Doug Wright.
