Women's Event to Fete Goodman; Ringwald, D'Abruzzo and Barnhart to Appear

Tony Award-winning producer Robyn Goodman will be honored at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center's 12th Annual Women’s Event on Nov. 7.
Goodman, the producer of Broadway's
In the Heights, Avenue Q and
West Side Story, will be presented with the Arts & Culture Out Woman of the Year Award at the 7 PM event. Also honored will be Congregation Beth Simchat Torah spiritual leader Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum.
Actress Molly Ringwald ("Pretty in Pink," "The Breakfast Club," Cabaret, Enchanted April) will present Goodman with her award, while Georgetown University law professor Chai R. Feldblum will introduce Kleinbaum.
As part of the evening, Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo will join fellow original Avenue Q cast member Jennifer Barnhart to perform "If You Were Gay" from the 2004 Tony-winning musical.
Held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, the Women's Event features cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, dessert and dancing. All proceeds will benefit organizations in the New York tri-state area that serve women.
