This very popular place is one of the few theatre area spots which is genuinely convivial without being contrived - if you don't enter with a smile on your face, you'll definitely leave with one! It started out not so long ago as an Irish pub pure and simple, but its deserved success with an across-the-board crowd (including theatre-going returnees) brought about the addition of a larger menu that embraces food that's a bit more sophisticated than usual pub fare. All this, coupled with a winning staff that really seems to care about the customers, and you've got a neat eatery to keep in mind when you don't feel like dressing up; yet crave a good, solid meal and the drinks to go with it. Maybe this explains why cast member of nearby hits like Beauty And The Beast visiting a family pal. Review If you can get past the jumping bar (not so easy) you'll be comfortably seated and handed a menu that contains expectables along likes of fish 'n' chips, shepherds pie and fine Irish smoked salmon, as well as worldier menu items such as Caesar salad, succulent steak to match top steakhouses, and an array of tasty sandwiches if it's a lighter mood you're in. The atmosphere's casual as an Erin morn and, since this is New York, you won't rub your eyes in disbelief if you also notice chili, BBQ ribs, and even teriyaki chicken should international favorites be your whim...After all, it's all not too different from what you might find in a County Cork pub these days, plus you'll leave with your wallet pretty much intact. (And try the Gotham-style cheesecake, begorra!) low-moderate
